Much much better for holding a decent conversation. btw, you know what would be a nice idea, perhaps a drawing/inking assignment every few days with a few tips. Always more fun if you have stuff to do and talk about that you yourself have made :)
Your choice though.

1) Millions of ideas, no talent to show em yet :) Hence the idea was a bit out of what I could use :p 2) Excellent, really. 3) Imagine where you are now art wise, now go lower, lower, much lower, that's it, now go lower, even lower, repeat previous progress 10-20 times and that's where I'm at. So if you don't mind, I'll just PM the images :p

I can see the pic's just fine, but I couldnt at first. I don't know why but all is well now. I really dig all the pics and like your work alot. Cool stuff! I am an artist wannabe and would love to show you some stuff but i dont have a scanner. I will load up some pics at a friends and post some. I love inking it was the most enjoyable part of drawing for me. I sucked at pencils though. Hehe. I got burned out on trying to break into the biz though. It can really take the fun out of just enjoying comics. I still love the medium and walking into a comic shop is still one of those places that just feels like instant childhood nostalgia. At least for the shops that arent mostly games and dice and cards with the comics in a tiny little corner. Here's a goof drawing I did with a felt tip and my friend Len colored. Keep in mind I was just doodling so i know stuffs out of proportion hehe. Excuses excuses
Hey that's pretty cool. Like the vibe of the piece, it's fun.
I remember when i was first trying to break into the industry myself. I tried to break in as a Penciler and inker, i was pretty slow as a penciler though, not too bad but defintly slow. I was so much faster as a inker and i got pretty good at it to.
So here we are 10 years later, an Inker. I really want eventually get into doing mostly writer though.

I have to make a confession that that drawing is 3 years old, D'oh. I haven't been drawing at all for quite awhile mostly concentrating on writing and doing my podcast. I still love drawing and just doodle from time to time. I know 'Boo' my wife gets mad especially since 'Breaking In' is all I used to talk about lol.
I only showed my stuff at a convention once, it was a Dallas Fantasy Fair in 93' or 94' I think and I showed my portfolio to an artist that shall remain nameless *cough*Marc Pacella*cough* and he trashed it. He told me what was probably the truth but I was sunk lower than low and gave up drawing instead of trying to work harder and prove him wrong. About a year later I started drawing again but this time just to learn and not thinking in the back of my head about getting a job. That really helped.

What's funny is that i used to go to all the Fantasy Fairs too. In Fact the one in -94-95 is the one that i got hired at( By Rob liefield). I had been going to Art school at the same time and trying to do my school projects and work on Comic samples at the same time. Man i was so tired that year.
What's funny about Mark is that the guy could always dish it out but never wanted to hear it himself. I still remember when he went pyscho at Extreme studios because someone threw a sharpie and it hit off his drawing table. He stood up and screamed for who did it and proceeded to pound his desk over and over, demanding satisfaction. man that place was nuts.

LOL that's hilarious. I should've showed my stuff to Rob that day. He was just 5 feet away. My sister urged me to but after Pacella I wanted to go home LOL. He did say my inks were decent and that's what my sister kept telling me on the way home.
Hell you probaly saw me there, i was actually working the sercurity for the Liefield line. My best friend use to work for the promoter of the Show (larry) so as long as i helped a bit i could get in free and get access to all the behind the scenes. Showed Rob my stuff behind the Curtained off area after he finished his signing.
"What ever happened to Liefeld anyway?"
He's still around. He just recently finished some DC work(Teen Titans) and is supposed to do more Mravel stuff. Along with his forays into Hollyweird. That guy made so much money back in the day that he is still fine to this day.

Cool. I need to get to the comic store soon. In Fort Worth there's a nice shop called y2k comics. Lone Star doesn't carry enough titles anymore.
I wondered what happened to Rob. Last time I was in a comics shop I was very confused obviously new companies and new titles have sprung up and I was rubbing my head in confusion.
