I wanted to post some pages i'd done but the scanner is too small lol. But i'd rather post new stuff anyway. It's funny but until I stumbled upon your blog i hadn't been drawing but now I find myself getting into it again. It's really cool to see all of the artwork that you post that's really awesome. I like the ink work without the colors the best so I can tell better what was done in the piece.

Hey Himee! Did it work?

I guess it did. Now let figure out why I can't see any of your pics. I right click and still can't see anything.

Hey Sherman, just wanted to thank you for posting your pages.

From the looks of them i would say that you inked most of the pages  with a tech pen.(let me know if I'm mistaken)(. While that may work for somethings it wont work on the whole by itself.

I know that using the Nib/crow quill is tough but the only way to get good with it is by practicing. You need to vary your lines more. thincker lines around the bodies to help pop them off the background elements. Also just a note, there are very few pencilers that would let any inker use tech pens on their pencils. Some pencilers when inking themselves use tech pens but they can get away with it because they use them to help create their style.

You could have the most beatiful lines in the world but you need to be able to pop things and give them life.

The Two most important things to concentrate on right now is line quality and conture lines(poping things out). Keep practicing with that Nib and keep showing stuff.

Keep practicing with that nib, dont get frustrated with it. the main thing i will say is really concentrate on you thicks and thins. Pop things more.

Your control on this page seems better. You still need to beef up the conture lines on the figures. Remember to always pop them out a little more.

I'm posting this on behalf of a friend of mine who is trying to break into the industry. He drew this X-men pin up for a presentation of a short story that I'm writing and presenting to Marvel. We should also have the colored version soon.

i showed it around at wizard world texas and got some good feed back, the one thing that everyone agreed on was that i need more line variety on the interior lines, and maybe the placement of a few of the heavy lines.
